Checkpoint [Ithr] problem when powering on

When I power on my Dell 8400 an alert stating checkpoint [Ithr] has a problem and to contact Dell support...the screen is frozen and there is no response...not even when pressing Control/Alt/Del...

Please advise...

According to several reports on how to fix this error, doing a google search for your posted error, says that resetting the CMOS (BIOS) will fix the problem.  Power off the PC the open the case and remove the CR2032 CMOS backup battery for about 5 minutes.  Reinstall the battery (make sure you get it installed with the correct polarity).  Power on the PC and it should boot or at least give you some type of Setup or boot error because the BIOS was reset.  You can clear that by pressing F2 to enter the setup and disable, for example to boot from USB or a floppy diskette error.
